Herne Hill Free Film Festival

We proudly celebrate our 12th year this May 2025 with 11 feature films, a pub quiz, three short film nights, and the return of our much-loved 48 Hour Film Challenge.
Since our first festival in 2013, we have screened over 168 feature-length films and 125 short films to 20,000+ local residents. Come and join us this year! Screenings are free, no tickets, no need to book. Just turn up!
The Herne Hill Free Film Festival would not be possible without the generous support of our fabulous sponsors
Pedder Property, Bunhead Bakery, Fison Fitness, Lowie, Artemidorus, Dugard & Daughters, Llewelyn’s, Macatia and Coffee, The Paper Cat, Volcano Coffee Works, White Feather Boutique and Wild + Lees and the help we receive from the many wonderful venues in and around the local area. Thank you all for making free film available to our local community! The festival’s volunteers are also grateful to all our audiences for their kind donations.
If you have any short films, or videos that you’ve made at home, or any footage you’d like to share here please get in touch via messenger on our Facebook Page.
We are part of Free Film Festivals, a network of volunteer-powered neighbourhood free film festivals. We always welcome new helpers so if you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you. Simply contact us (see contact details at the top of the right hand column of this page or via our social media pages).
