SUMMARY:48 Hour Film Challenge
DESCRIPTION:  \nMake a Film in a Weekend! \nThe Herne Hill Free Film Festival’s 48 HOUR FILM CHALLENGE is back to continue its search for the very best local filmmaking talent. This year we are delighted to be sponsored by Bunhead Bakery    \nIf you’re not already familiar with Herne HIll’s biggest annual filmmaking competition\, we give you a line of dialogue\, a prop\, a Herne Hill location and 48 hours\, and all you have to give us is a three minute short film.  \nThe clock starts ticking on Saturday 3 May so come to The Prince Regent between midday and 1.00pm to enter\, and come back 48 hours later on Monday 5 May with your finished film. As with previous years there are three competition categories (under 16s; over 16s; and families) and you can be as creative as you wish using your phone\, a tablet\, a camera or anything else you can lay your hands on to craft your masterpiece. Judging is by a panel of local filmmaking talent. \nThe awards ceremony will see the Herne Hill Free Film Festival once again head to Station Hall above Herne Hill train station on Sunday 18 May at 6.00pm. \nThe winner takes home Clockie\, the prize all Oscar\, BAFTA and Palme d’Or winners would happily trade their awards and grandmothers for. Lovingly crafted out of something by one of our volunteers (yet to be decided)\, it’ll surely be something to take pride of place on any mantlepiece. Each category will also have some cash prizes for the winners too.

SUMMARY:A Bug's Life + 'Family Low Tide Walk' at Creekside Discovery Centre
DESCRIPTION:Join us at Creekside for a magical\, environmental journey with Flik and his friends! \n \nEnjoy Pixar’s beloved animated film A Bug’s Life which follows Flik\, an inventive ant\, as he teams up with circus bugs to save his colony from the menacing grasshoppers led by Hopper. This heartwarming and environmental tale is filled with humour\, adventure\, and lessons about teamwork\, courage and the natural world.\n\nDedicated to local conservation and environmental education\, at Creekside our mission is to inspire people to connect with the wonder of urban wildlife. We aim to do this in many ways\, including fun film screenings about the fascinating world of bugs for children and adults. The screening will take place in the main room of our Creekside Discovery Centre. We have chairs and benches\, but you’re welcome to bring your own cushions or camp chairs for extra comfort.\n\nFor those who want to extend the adventure and family fun\, we will run our new ‘Family Low Tide Walk’ in the morning before the film screening. It’s a separate\, paid-for event\, with details on Creekside Discovery Centre’s website.\n\nWhether you attend the walk or not\, don’t miss this fabulous free screening combining education\, adventure\, and entertainment for the whole family!
