Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
Bring something to sit on and whatever you need to stay warm and dry
Before Chalamet, before Depp, and before Glasgow’s Wonka experience, there was Wilder! Join us at the historic velodrome as we close this year’s festival with the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory on our huge screen. Relive the magic of the chocolate river, the wondrous boat ride and the everlasting gobstopper, or introduce your kids to the Candyman, Grandpa Joe and the shady Slugworth. Share Charlie’s suspense as he unwraps the Wonka Bar, and follow Willy Wonka around his incredible factory while the Oompa Loompas deal with badly behaved children.
The velodrome will be selling beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks, but feel free to bring food and drink too (preferably chocolate!) – no glass, please. Make sure you have something to sit on, something waterproof and some warm layers!
Hold your breath; make a wish; count to three; come with us and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination.
FREE MAKES IT INCLUSIVE, DONATIONS MAKE IT HAPPEN
As part of this year’s Herne Hill Free Film Festival we are pleased to be supporting again the Norwood & Brixton Food Bank, helping to raise awareness for this most worthy of local causes. Any spare change collected at each of our screenings would be greatly appreciated and donated* to help this wonderful charity continue the admirable work.
