Thu 14th Sep – 8pm (doors 7pm)

WHITE RIOT is a documentary about the Rock Against Racism campaign and the response of the anti-racism movement to the prominence of the National Front in 1970s Britain.
Note: The film contains very strong language, racist behaviour. (BBFC)
Rubika Shah’s energizing film charts a vital London protest movement. Rock Against Racism (RAR) was formed in 1976, prompted by ‘music’s biggest colonialist’ Eric Clapton and his support of racist MP Enoch Powell. White Riot (2019) blends fresh interviews with queasy archive footage to recreate a hostile environment of anti-immigrant hysteria and National Front marches.
Cast Red Saunders, Dennis Bovell, Mykaell Riley, Pervez Bilgrami, Pauline Black, Ruth Gregory, The Clash, Enoch Powell.
This is an outdoor screening. If the weather is bad we will try and move indoors.
Snacks and drinks
As it’s a pub drinks are available inside. Outdoors next to the screening is a new pizza venue, Toledo. The pub is very dog friendly. Chairs will be provided, but maybe bring a blanket for later on.
