The Holdovers

Free (No ticket required - First come first served)
7:30PM (Doors open 6.00pm)
INDOOR: Carnegie Library Hub

In 1970, students at a New England boarding school ‘holdover’ during the Christmas break, under the gaze of their strict teacher. Unlikely life-changing bonds form as the Vietnam War looms in the background.

The Holdovers blends nostalgic charm and humour and explores connection and redemption set against societal upheaval. It celebrates embracing new journeys, free from constraints. The film was nominated for five Oscars; Da’Vine Joy Randolph won the Best Supporting Actress award.

We return to the beautiful Grade II listed Carnegie Library Hub after a long hiatus. Drinks will be for sale at the bar!

FREE MAKES IT INCLUSIVE, DONATIONS MAKE IT HAPPEN

As part of this year’s Herne Hill Free Film Festival we are pleased to be supporting again the Norwood & Brixton Food Bank, helping to raise awareness for this most worthy of local causes. Any spare change collected at each of our screenings would be greatly appreciated and donated* to help this wonderful charity continue the admirable work.
