Smokey, aka Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Jackie Gleason), is the prospective father-in-law of unwilling bride Carrie (Sally Field). The Bandit (Burt Reynolds), a maverick racecar driver, makes an 80,000-dollar bet that he can transport a shipment of Coors beer from Texarkana, TX, to Atlanta within 28 hours.
Already in danger of arrest from redneck lawmen like Buford T. Justice, Bandit furthers his chances at a stiff jail term when he offers a ride to Carrie, who hopes to escape her unwanted wedding to Justice’s boy.
As well as live music from:
Bryony Dunn @ 18:30
The Fetcham Draught @ 19:15
we will be showing a short comedy film “Rhapsody in Brew” before the main feature.
There will be cash bars selling beer, wine and soft drinks. While you are welcome to bring snacks, please support the hosts by not bringing your own drinks. Thank you.
This event is outdoor, so please bring a chair and dress for the conditions- the films won’t start until after it is dark (from 8:00pm) and it may get chilly!
As with all our events during the festival, admission is free!
