Short Film Night

Free (No ticket required - First come first served)
8:30PM
INDOOR: Peckhamplex Cinema

At PeckhamPlex on the 3rd of September, our 2025 Short Film Night programme returns with a diverse, genre-spanning mix that balances humour with serious themes, presenting brave personal stories alongside experimental work, documentary, and animation.

From Super 8 portraits of working-class South London life (King of Deptford) and darkly horror comic fiction (Night Whispers), to moving explorations of identity in You Can Call Me Lou, the line-up intentionally reflects a wide range of voices, backgrounds, and perspectives.

Highlights also include Jarvis Laurence’s lyrical Portrait of Grandmother set in the Borneo rainforest, Paul Pajot’s Peckham-born animated salmon odyssey Salmo, and Mark Saunders’ inspiring grassroots documentary The Fight for Aylesham.

Together, these films celebrate the diversity and creativity of emerging filmmakers and affirm our belief in the power and importance of UK film to nurture fresh and champion talent, despite today’s industry challenges.

Free event, no booking needed. Arrive early to secure a seat.

Doors: 8:15pm, Start: 8:30pm
