Paradise Now
From Golden Bear-winning director Hany Abu-Assad comes an empathetic tale of oppression and resistance, Paradise Now. Screening at SET Social, 55a Nigel Rd, London SE15 4NP on Saturday 30 August, 3.30 pm.
Childhood friends, Said and Khaled, are called upon for a suicide bomb mission in Tel Aviv. As complications arise, the pair find themselves at an ideological crossroads.
The first Palestinian film to be nominated for an Oscar, Paradise Now, is an emotionally charged exploration of the impact of injustice and a stark reminder of how the occupation has evolved in the twenty years since its release.
