My Kind Of Black: A Night of Short Films by Young Black Londoners + Q&A

Free (No ticket required - First come first served)
8:00PM (Doors open 7.30pm)
INDOOR: 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning

Join us at one of our new screening venues, 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning gallery for an evening of short films showcasing the voices and talents of young Black Londoners as they explore issues that matter to them. The event highlights the work of Bridge the Gap Studios, supporting young people and families through creative therapy and workshops, and The Spit Game, a youth-led platform celebrating Black culture and social justice.

Him & I

A week after their most difficult conversation – can a mother and son rebuild a relationship that faces its biggest challenge yet?

Him and I takes you on a journey to discover what “family” truly means and challenges us to explore the feeling that is crucial in any human life – belonging.

Produced by: Bridge the Gap Studios

The Things I’ll Do To Be President

It’s election season at Morris Brook College and the candidates will do anything they can to win. The Student President nominees and their campaign teams are in the middle of a heated school-televised debate. But as malicious conspiracy theories fly, maybe a true conspiracy is at work.

7 Doors

Kaz, a young man, trying to come to terms with his parents’ separation, finds himself pursued by a terrifying manifestation of his own anxiety.

Trapped within his subconscious mind, he must navigate a treacherous labyrinth of seven doors, each representing a unique challenge…

The Nudes

A candid exploration of consent in the digital age, focusing on the non-consensual sharing of intimate images.

The Nudes is a short film exploring young peoples’ perspectives on sex and relationships, specifically around consent in digital spaces. With the sending of nudes very common in our communities, this short exposes the impact of receiving non-consensual nudes, raising awareness and challenging choices.

Produced by: The Spit Game

Help! I Think My Teacher Is A Racist

An unfiltered look at racism within the education system. Highlighting just some of the issues in the education system from a black teenager’s perspective, that also reflects some of the complexities and difficulties teachers  also face, and how the system they work within rather than the individuals can affect the experiences of those they teach.

Produced by: The Spit Game
