Marcel the shell lives with Alan, his pet ball of lint and his grandmother Nana Connie. He’s estranged from his family, but desperate to find and re-connect with them.
Documentary filmmaker Dean discovers Marcel and starts filming him, posting his everyday life and ruminations online, which gradually attract a huge following.
A live action/stop-motion masterpiece, following on from internet videos, the film is an impressive achievement that proves as profound as it is funny and moving.
The Hive cafe space is buggy friendly and snacks will be on sale.
