Kajaki + actor Q&A
Bafta-nominated Kajaki is tense, powerful and moving. The true-life story of the ultimate race against time. Join us in the Prince Regent and witness the action for yourself.
In Afghanistan in 2006, a British army unit is stationed by the Kajaki Dam, responsible for maintaining its security. Amidst the jokes and camaraderie is an underlying tension as the unit continually monitor nearby Taliban activity.
A seemingly routine three-man patrol to disable a Taliban roadblock turns into a rescue mission against the clock when one of the unit detonates a landmine, seriously injuring himself. As the group come to realise, the dried out river bed they are in is a minefield, left over from previous invasions.
As their situation becomes more perilous and the dangerous nature of the river bed becomes clearer, the group must find a way out – quickly. Based on a true story, the team’s strength and bravery is put to the test.
Kajaki holds nothing back, as a strong cast including Mark Stanley and David Elliot keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. This isn’t a comfortable film – it’s brutal, honest and intense.
All donations from this screening will go to Walking With The Wounded, please bring as much change as you can give.
The actor Benjamin O’Mahoney who plays Stu Hale in the film will do a Q&A after the film at 9.30pm.
