Hundreds of Beavers
Paying homage to Hollywood’s silent era and the golden age of animation, this slapstick epic sees a down-on-his-luck applejack distiller forced to become North America’s greatest fur trapper for his own survival – and for love. Can Jean Kayak use his (dim) wits to win against the harsh winter elements? Can he stop himself getting eaten by ravenous wolves? And can he defeat literally Hundreds of Beavers?
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you may develop an irrational fear of beavers – or soft toys.
We’re excited to be showing Hundreds of Beavers at the newly refurbished Brockwell Hall. The film will be in the stables area next to the main hall. There is limited seating so maybe worth bringing your own, just in case.
This is the first event for the community at Brockwell Hall and we’re going all out in partnership with the Hall! The excellent Alvar Tree Frogs will be providing music and so join them at 6:30 at Herne Hill Station to join the procession up the hill or from 7:30 at Brockwell Hall. Wild+Lees will be selling drinks and there’s a free glass of prosecco for the first 50 to arrive. You asked for popcorn, you also asked for ice cream – no film show should be without both so, we combined them – free popcorn ice cream from Minus 12 Degrees until stocks run out. Beaver and other costumes welcome (and maybe some extra fizz for those who make a real effort)!
We would like to thank Fison Fitness for sponsoring this screening of Hundreds of Beavers.
FREE MAKES IT INCLUSIVE, DONATIONS MAKE IT HAPPEN
As part of this year’s Herne Hill Free Film Festival we are pleased to be supporting again the Lambeth & Croydon Food Bank, helping to raise awareness for this most worthy of local causes. Any donations by card or cash at each of our screenings would be greatly appreciated to help this wonderful charity continue its admirable work*
