Dr Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
Kubrick’s classic anti-Cold War black comedy hits all the right notes with a message that endures – and indeed resonates strongly in 2025’s political landscape.
Stanley Kubrick’s enduring anti-Cold War satire still rings true half a decade after its release. This much-loved black comedy sees Peter Sellers in three roles as Group Captain Lionel Mandrake, US President Merkin Muffley, and his wheelchair-bound ‘scientific adviser’ and ex-Nazi Dr Strangelove as they wrestle (sometimes literally) to deal with the fallout after rogue US Air Force Brigadier General Jack D Ripper takes a unilateral decision to deal with those darned Russkies once and for all. Join us at Villages Taproom where the bar will be open throughout the screening.
