Donnie Darko
The West Norwood Free Film Festival presents a screening of Donnie Darko at The Portico Gallery.
After narrowly escaping a bizarre accident, a troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a man in a large rabbit suit who manipulates him to commit a series of crimes. Is Donnie suffering from a mental illness, post-traumatic stress disorder or living in a parallel universe?
Donnie Darko confirmed Jake Gyllenhaal as a screen presence to watch in this thrilling genre-bending fusion of teen drama, science fiction and psychological thriller. It’s set in 1980s suburban America – where else (!) – with a soundtrack to die for including hits by Echo and The Bunnymen and Tears for Fears.
Sponsored by Station to Station, the West Norwood & Tulse Hill business improvement district
