Charlton Assembly Rooms

 
“This beautiful and ornate, red-brick meeting hall in the centre of Charlton Village dates back to 1881.”

The venue is wheelchair accessible with a side entrance on the left of the building. Once inside there is an accessible loo on the right hand side of the main room (when facing the stage). There are also 2 parking spaces reserved for blue badge holders (however the parking area is also used by those attending Charlton football matches).

Buses stopping nearby: 53, 54, 380, 422, 486 (N53)
All stop at Charlton Village (Stop R) on the opposite side of the road (heading towards Woolwich) and at the stop called Charlton Park Road (Stop Q) on the same side of the road (buses head in a variety of directions: 53 (Lambeth North), 54 (Elmers End), 380 (Lewisham Shopping Centre), 422 & 486 (North Greenwich)).

Nearest rail
Charlton (Zone 3) –  walk up the hill (Charlton Church Lane), turn left at St Luke’s Church onto the B210, walk past some shops and the Charlton Assembly Rooms are the red brick building on the right hand side. Alternatively take the 486 bus from the stop on Barney Close, below the Sainsbury’s and Post Office (Charlton Station / Charlton Church Lane (Stop J)). Stay on past the Warren Walk stop and alight at the next one, opposite the rooms.

Woolwich Arsenal Rail / DLR (Zone 4) – buses 53, 54, 380 and 422 pass nearby.

Nearest tube
North Greenwich station for Jubilee trains. The 486 bus or a taxi will take you to the venue (see detailed directions above).

Nearest pier
Thames Clippers stop at North Greenwich station, for the 486 bus, or at Woolwich Pier for a variety of buses though both piers involve a bit of a walk to the bus stops.

Cars
There is free parking on the left of the venue with 2 spaces reserved for blue badge holders. Note that if there is a football match on the same day there may be fewer spaces available.
