All systems go for Peckham and Nunhead Free Film Festival 2020
Our 2020 festival kicks off on Thursday 3rd September with a discussion hosted by SE London Salon on film, creating opportunities and community collaboration. Other online events range from a Funky Film Friday DJ night to a two-day animation workshop for children. Leeds Animation Workshop is collaborating with Women in Film SE15 for an online screening/Q&A, and there’s also a Q&A with local filmmaker Tianna Banton after a screening of her new film. A curated programme of short films relating to our area will be available online throughout the festival and collaborations with Rainbow Collective, Films for Food, Peckham Palms and Exploding Cinema mean that our programme is as diverse and eclectic as ever.
While most of our 2020 festival is necessarily online, there are also some live, socially distanced, events. One Bum Cinema is moving into The Green community centre in Nunhead for the duration of the festival. There’ll be a film screening at the Copleston Centre and, for our closing night on the 13th, we’re shining a spotlight on Nunhead’s Elvis, who’s been singing to raise funds for the community during lockdown.
