The South Korean passenger ferry ‘Sewol’ sank on the 16th of April 2014.
Of the 304 killed, 250 were high school children. It is still not known why the ferry sank and why no coordinated rescue attempt was mounted. As the relatives of the victims fight for a thorough and independent investigation, they come against an uncaring government and hostile news media.
This documentary film tells the story of the Sewol families: their grief, and their efforts to bring improvements in a nation whose democracy is faltering under a corrupt presidency.
