New Cross & Deptford Free Film Festival set to launch its 2025 programme

The annual New Cross & Deptford Free Film Festival is gearing up to announce its 2025 programme, which kicks off on Friday 25th April with a screening of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert followed by a drag ball disco.

Sharing the joy of cinema across SE8 and SE14, the festival is entirely run by volunteers and brings people together to watch free films with family, friends and neighbours in the bars, libraries, churches and parks of Deptford and New Cross.

Although the venues don’t charge to host events and all the organisation is done by volunteers, there are still costs to cover – licences for screening the films, the cost of printing programmes and posters, the hire of equipment and provision of public liability insurance.

This year the festival has launched a Crowdfunder appeal to raise a small amount of funds to boost its reserves – the appeal runs until 8 March and is already almost 20% funded.

If you’ve enjoyed the festival in the past and want to support it then please visit the page and pledge whatever you can afford; if you don’t have any spare cash but still want to help, you can do so by sharing the link with your social networks.
