With a passion for film and part of Free Film Festivals, we are a network of volunteer-powered neighbourhood free film festivals.
WNFFF has close links with local businesses and has a history of screening super cool films with unusual settings, such as The Clockworks Museum and The West Norwood Cemetery. We have also had 48 hour film challenges, competitions and film quizzes! You can click on the ‘Festival archive’ link below to see what happened previously.
In May this year, we brought to you our ‘May Movies With Music’ film screenings where we celebrated cool, stylish soundtracks in film. On Friday 20th May 2022, it was a ‘Here’s to you Mrs Robinson’ as we kicked off with the 1967 classic film ‘The Graduate’, complete with live local band, Bennett Valuks. This was held at the beautiful Portico Gallery with the crowd going wild to the remastered HD edition of the film and the band with their 60s tracks!
On Saturday 21st May 2022, we then moved over to West Norwood’s funky Book and Record Bar for a look back at the 70’s with ‘Almost Famous’ as we celebrated the 20th year anniversary of the film release. And what a better venue to hold it in as WNFFF picked up their anniversary edition vinyls whilst watching the film!
In the autumn, we teamed up with West Norwood Cemetery for spooky Halloween Screenings of Monsters, Inc and Get Out.
If you’d like to get involved in planning the WNFFF festival, please get in touch as we would love to hear from you! No experience required, just a passion for film.
Free Film Festivals are completely run by volunteers. Each festival is always looking for more volunteers, so drop them a message through the Contact Us page if you’d like to get involved, and they’ll get back to you soon.
