The Outrun

The Outrun is a compelling drama that follows Rona, portrayed by Saoirse Ronan, as she returns to Scotland’s Orkney Islands after battling alcoholism in London. Adapted from Amy Liptrot’s bestselling memoir, the film delves into Rona’s journey of self-discovery and healing amidst the island’s rugged beauty. Through immersive storytelling and a nonlinear narrative, it explores themes of addiction, recovery, and the profound connection between nature and personal transformation.

Coldharbour Blue is launching in early May to provide a community space for film and other events, building on the legacy of Whirled Cinema.
